Ephraim is the only Haitian Seventh-day Adventist church in the city of Bridgeport, Connecticut. We started as a Mission in 1994, comprised of only a few families, and as our membership grew, we were officially established as a church by the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. After renting for a few years, we purchased our first building at 1541 Iranistan Avenue in 1999. As of the Fall of 2021, we can proudly state that we are now 185 members, strong and growing. In late Winter of 2022, we acquired a bigger building at 3160 Park Avenue in Bridgeport, CT, through God's continued blessing.
Our objective is to become a force in the community. In order to fulfill this mission, we looked into setting up activities where we would either be a facilitator by connecting the community residents with other organizations with readily available resources or a direct provider by using our in-house members to lead workshops and seminars based on their qualifications in the service being offered. Our target segment is not restricted to nationality (Haitian descent) but is open to all who need our support. Our long-term objective is to develop a community center; until then, we will strive to reach that destination through commitment, determination, and prayer."
